About the Author
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, on the smaller of the two islands, Pastor Frank moved to Trinidad at seventeen to attend school — a week following the death of his father, who passed away at the early age of fifty-nine. After his studies and some years working, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada.
In Toronto, he began attending The Stone Church, where he has worshipped to this day. He studied Engineering Technology at Ryerson University (now TMU), and spent most of his working career in engineering at Ontario’s largest power generation company.
When the opportunity to retire early arrived, he was invited to join the pastoral staff at his church — opening the door to Tyndale Seminary, where he pursued Biblical and Pastoral Studies and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2010. He served as Discipleship & Care Pastor for seventeen years until his retirement in 2022.

Pastor Frank is married to his lovely wife Glenda, and they have two daughters, Karen and Cathy. He is passionate about the care of people and continues to encourage God’s children through his writing.

This morning, I want to share a devotional thought with you on seeing life from God’s Perspective

“Seeing Life from a Better Vantage Point”
Attending a parade can be quite an exciting adventure especially when you were little.
The day Canadians had marked on their calendars finally came, and so, those who were prepared with their glasses, specially suited for the event, were able to witness the total solar eclipse.
As the Moon passed between the Sun and Earth, the eclipse brought darkness to various parts across the country for several minutes.
Have you ever considered yourself to be one of “the poor”? Do you now or have you ever experienced periods of uncertainty, not knowing where your next meal was coming from? For many in our large cities including Toronto, this is their daily dilemma.
The term, “the poor” is often used to describe a certain group of people. But being poor is a relative thing – once your relatives find out that you are poor, they no longer have anything to do with you.
Have you ever been thirsty? No, I don’t mean being thirsty after a workout, or the feeling of thirst you get sitting on the patio on a hot summer day. No, I mean dried out thirst, tongue sticking to the roof of the mouth thirst.
I would guess you probably haven’t experienced such a thirst. Neither have I. Yet hundreds, and probably thousands not only experience it, but die from it across the various regions of the world. You see water is one of the few necessities of life, without which, you will die.
San Francisco police officer and devoted father, Frank Conner searched frantically for a compatible bone marrow donor for his son Matt, who had leukemia. He searched country-wide, but came up empty each time. No suitable match could be found.
In desperation, he breaks into the FBI headquarters and looking through the files of all the convicted felons for their blood type, he found a perfect match. Unfortunately, it was Peter McCabe, a vicious murderer serving life in prison.
Mother’s Day is a holiday in honour of mothers. It is celebrated in countries throughout the world. The idea of Mother’s Day originated with Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, whose mother had organized women’s groups to promote friendship and health. On May 12, 1907, she held a memorial service at her late mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate the first Mother’s Day. Over time the day was expanded to include others, such as grandmothers and aunts, and many others who played mothering roles.
