Words That
Restore,

Inspire & Transform

“He will give you hope and grant you the ability to overcome the challenges that life throws at you.”
Pastor Alvin Frank, M.Div.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

JEREMIAH 29:11

A Mirror for the

Modern Believer

Through the timeless and gripping account of Samson — the mighty judge chosen by God
— Pastor Alvin Frank draws a compelling parallel between ancient Israel and the modern
Christian walk. This is not merely a retelling of a biblical story; it is a spiritual examination
that cuts to the heart.

As Samson descended into the Valley of Sorek, lured by beauty and comfort, he slowly lost
the very thing that made him extraordinary: his sensitivity to the Spirit of God. This book
asks the piercing question — could the same be happening to us?

Three books. Three seasons of spiritual insight. Each written to encourage, challenge, and
draw you closer to the heart of God.

Book One

In Every Season

101 Devotionals for the Journey

A rich collection of 101 devotionals crafted to walk with
you through every season of life — spring’s hope,
summer’s abundance, autumn’s change, and winter’s
quiet trust. Each entry is a daily encounter with God’s
faithfulness.

Book Two

Samson in the Valley of Sorek

A Reflective Look at Becoming Spiritually Desensitized

Through Samson’s powerful story, Pastor Frank holds up
a mirror to the modern believer’s soul. Are we drifting
from spiritual sensitivity without even realizing it? This
book challenges, convicts, and ultimately restores.

Book Three

Beauty from Ashes

God’s Promise of Redemption

In life’s darkest moments, God’s promise of redemption
shines brightest. This newest work from Pastor Frank is a
testament to the transforming power of God’s grace —
turning ruins into something breathtakingly beautiful.

Core Themes

What These Books Explore

Across all three works, Pastor Frank weaves together threads of grace, accountability,
redemption and daily faithfulness — truths startlingly relevant to contemporary life.

Spiritual Desensitization

How do we slowly become numb to the voice
of God? Pastor Frank traces the incremental
steps by which Samson — and we — drift
from divine sensitivity into a spiritual fog of
our own making.

Temptation & Integrity

The Valley of Sorek was Samson’s
battleground. It is ours too. These books
explore how the environment we choose
shapes the strength of our faith — in public
and in private.

Redeeming Grace

Even in Samson’s darkest moment, God’s
grace was not absent. These books close with
a profound message of restoration — that no
valley is too deep for the reach of God’s
mercy.

Self-Examination

Designed as reflective studies, readers are
challenged to look inward, identifying the
“valleys” in their own lives that draw them
away from wholeness in Christ.

Devotional Faithfulness

Through 101 devotionals, In Every Season
walks with the believer through every chapter
of life — equipping them with God’s Word
for every moment.

Returning to God

Ultimately, these are stories of a God who
never abandons His people. The books chart
a path back — from spiritual blindness into
the light of renewed covenant relationship.

About the Author

Pastor Alvin Frank

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, on the smaller of the two islands, Pastor Frank moved to Trinidad at seventeen to attend school — a week following the death of his father, who passed away at the early age of fifty-nine. After his studies and some years working, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada.

In Toronto, he began attending The Stone Church, where he has worshipped to this day. He studied Engineering Technology at Ryerson University (now TMU), and spent most of his working career in engineering at Ontario’s largest power generation company.

When the opportunity to retire early arrived, he was invited to join the pastoral staff at his church — opening the door to Tyndale Seminary, where he pursued Biblical and Pastoral Studies and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2010. He served as Discipleship & Care Pastor for seventeen years until his retirement in 2022.

"I trust that this book will encourage you to trust God, regardless of what you may be going through, because He has promised never to leave or forsake you."

Pastor Frank is married to his lovely wife Glenda, and they have two daughters, Karen and Cathy. He is passionate about the care of people and continues to encourage God’s children through his writing.

Reader Reviews

Words from Fellow Believers

A spiritual mirror that shows me where I was, where I am, and where I will be in my faith journey as a follower of Christ
Jesus, my God, my Lord. What a great, clear and active interpretation of Samson’s life for the young, adult and old
Christian. The faithful love of the LORD never ends. His mercies never cease.

Alvin Frank’s work is more than just a reflection on Samson’s story; it is a vital reminder for every leader about the dangers
of spiritual desensitization. Alvin calls us to remain vigilant — to be leaders who, in a world of shifting moral standards,
hold fast to spiritual integrity both in private and in public.

When the Heavens Speak

The day Canadians had marked on their calendars finally came, and so, those who were prepared with their glasses, specially suited for the event, were able to witness the total solar eclipse.

As the Moon passed between the Sun and Earth, the eclipse brought darkness to various parts across the country for several minutes.

“The Poor” – Will They Always Be With Us?

Have you ever considered yourself to be one of “the poor”? Do you now or have you ever experienced periods of uncertainty, not knowing where your next meal was coming from? For many in our large cities including Toronto, this is their daily dilemma.

The term, “the poor” is often used to describe a certain group of people. But being poor is a relative thing – once your relatives find out that you are poor, they no longer have anything to do with you

The Trouble with Wells

Have you ever been thirsty? No, I don’t mean being thirsty after a workout, or the feeling of thirst you get sitting on the patio on a hot summer day. No, I mean dried out thirst, tongue sticking to the roof of the mouth thirst.

I would guess you probably haven’t experienced such a thirst. Neither have I. Yet hundreds, and probably thousands not only experience it, but die from it across the various regions of the world. You see water is one of the few necessities of life, without which, you will die.

When the Heavens Speak

San Francisco police officer and devoted father, Frank Conner searched frantically for a compatible bone marrow donor for his son Matt, who had leukemia. He searched country-wide, but came up empty each time. No suitable match could be found.

In desperation, he breaks into the FBI headquarters and looking through the files of all the convicted felons for their blood type, he found a perfect match. Unfortunately, it was Peter McCabe, a vicious murderer serving life in prison.

Noteworthy Mothers and the Motherly

Mother’s Day is a holiday in honour of mothers. It is celebrated in countries throughout the world. The idea of Mother’s Day originated with Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, whose mother had organized women’s groups to promote friendship and health. On May 12, 1907, she held a memorial service at her late mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate the first Mother’s Day. Over time the day was expanded to include others, such as grandmothers and aunts, and many others who played mothering roles.
